Telisoft Trio is a fixed-dose combination tablet designed for adults with hypertension to effectively control blood pressure. It combines Amlodipine Besylate (equivalent to Amlodipine 5mg), Telmisartan 40mg, and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg, targeting multiple pathways for synergistic effects

HOW IT WORKS

Each film-coated Telisoft Trio tablet contains:

• Amlodipine Besylate equivalent to Amlodipine 5mg (calcium channel blocker).
• Telmisartan 40mg (angiotensin II receptor blocker).
• Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg (thiazide diuretic).

INDICATIONS

Telisoft Trio is indicated for hypertension in patients not adequately controlled on monotherapy or requiring multiple agents. It lowers blood pressure and reduces risks of stroke, heart attack, and kidney complications.

HOW IT WORKS

Telisoft Trio acts through complementary mechanisms:

• Telmisartan blocks angiotensin II receptors, relaxing blood vessels and reducing vascular resistance.
• Amlodipine inhibits calcium influx in vascular smooth muscle, promoting vasodilation.
• Hydrochlorothiazide increases sodium and water excretion, reducing plasma volume and blood pressure.

SAFETY ADVICE

Key considerations:

• Monitor blood pressure and electrolytes (especially potassium) regularly.
• Stay hydrated; supplement potassium if needed (rich foods like bananas).
• Pregnancy/Breastfeeding: Consult your physician.
• Limit alcohol and avoid excessive salt to enhance efficacy.
• Caution in hepatic/renal impairment.

DRUG INTERACTIONS

Inform your physician of all medications. Notable interactions:

• Potassium-sparing diuretics/ACE inhibitors : Hyperkalemia risk.
• NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen): Reduced antihypertensive effect, renal risks.
• Lithium: Increased toxicity.
• Simvastatin: Limit to 20mg daily due to amlodipine interaction.

SIDE EFFECTS

Telisoft Trio is generally well-tolerated:

• Common:
  • Dizziness, headache, ankle swelling.
  • Fatigue, dry cough.
  • Electrolyte shifts.
• Serious (Rare):
  • Severe hypotension, angioedema, or acute kidney injury.
  • Hyperuricemia/gout flares or severe hypokalemia.

Seek medical attention for chest pain, swelling, or irregular heartbeat.

STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS

Store at 20-25°C (68-77°F) in original packaging, away from moisture and light. Keep out of children’s reach.
